Pixel Glazing像素罩染法
Lo Chan Peng's self-developed painting method: layering the transparent glazes of classical oil technique to build the image from the logic of emitted, screen-borne light rather than reflected light. It answers the skin-like texture of digital imagery, holding the slow time of the hand against the instant generation of the digital picture, and carries his work beyond traditional realism into Post-Realism.
Post-Realism後寫實
Not a style but a position: the state classical realist craft reaches when pushed to answer the digital image rather than the visible world — representation made to register memory, perception, time and human presence in the age of AI.
Ghost幽靈
An expansion of Lo Chan Peng's practice into text, moving image, AI agents, archival existence and social platforms. It turns his peeling gaze from the figure onto social systems themselves, asking whether personality persists once a person's language, memory, aesthetics and values survive only as files — and where the line falls between a spectral remainder and the original self.
Before Arrival在抵達之前・閾限 Liminality
The position Lo Chan Peng holds his figures in: the lie already stripped away, the truth not yet reached. From the Latin limen, threshold. "Before arrival" names the moment before arrival at the real — the recurring psychological state of his quiet, suspended figures.
Duration綿延
After Bergson's durée: time that cannot be divided, only lived. For Lo it is what remains when every wrapping is peeled away — the one thing that cannot be faked. The wear, ash, erosion and sediment on his surfaces are duration made visible in a body or a painting.
Strawberry Generation草莓族
Lo Chan Peng's early breakthrough series (from 2009), portraying his own generation of young Taiwanese — the so-called "strawberry generation" — in large-scale figurative painting, peeling away the labels consumer society and media fasten onto the young.
Ink Storm墨嵐
The 2017 series marking Lo Chan Peng's inward turn, in which he inverts the real and the illusory — declaring the objective object a delusive appearance and subjective consciousness the only reality.
Homesickness思鄉症
A series made after Lo Chan Peng's move to the United States, peeling at nation and culture: it asks who wrapped up the identity called "Asia," and who has the right to narrate it.
Post-Saints後聖徒
A recent series treating contemporary figures with the visual language once reserved for saints and martyrs, probing belief, memory and what a culture chooses to venerate after religion.
